Fished my favorite west side lake on opening day even though it is open year-round..... Weather was mostly sunny 50-60 degrees with a slight breeze.... Lake was suprisingly not too crowded for opening day (like I said the lake is open year-round).... Fished in the AM and then again in the afternoon/evening..... Fishing was good - caught about 9 or 10 in about 3 hours between the two of us.... not fast action but they were all 14-16" - better than a bunch of small ones.... Kept 4 for a total of 5 lbs..... Fished from a private dock using various colors of power bait with a bit of Mikes shrimp oil.... Also saw boaters doing OK trolling.... This lake is a good one.... Please practice C&R as a rule, not an exception.... Cook and enjoy what you take..... Good luck to all and keep the lakes clean
BTW If you troll this lake a wet fly with a split shot trolled slowly is awesome or a dick-nite works well, too....
