Headed out to Lake Sutherland with a buddy early Sunday morning. The weather looked good and we were excited to start off our trout season on a good note. I've heard that the Kokanee fishing just off of Maple Grove is good with a buzz bomb. Unfortunately, the wind picked up and only had an electric trolling motor. We got stuck on the east end and had to row all the way back to the boat launch in pretty windy weather. Took a couple of hours to get back in the wind, but we got a few small (recently stocked) rainbows. We're heading back soon to target Kokanee and we're also going to take a kicker engine with us. The weather was sunny and we only saw three other boats the whole day. Things will change once the summer jet ski and water skiers arrive though.
