I was accompanied by my daughter's boyfriend--- I went out of character and went fishing from the dock (my wife, Bless her, has the only vehicle in our household with a trailer hitch--- so no boat today!) I had fished this way before, and had done it regularly as a kid living near Silver Lake, but today the Lake won the battle. I only scored one fish between us--- a 12" silver.

BAITS THAT WORKED: We tried salmon eggs, worms, then bottom-fished with marshmallows, corn, and power-bait. It WAS hot today--- the fish, after catching one, just faded away...

TYPE OF FISH CAUGHT: One extremely-stubborn silver. He must've yelled a warning to his fish pals... Sorry, I ENJOY fishing and relish to embellish.

LENGTH OF FISH: 15" (To those who witnessed the actual catch--- a big apology; I know you'll understand)

WEIGHT OF FISH: Purdy heavy.

TIME OF DAY: Around 11:00 AM and getting warm and sunny

LOCATION ON THE LAKE: NE shoreline; we were on the dock at the resort

CONDITIONS OF THE WATER: Clear, in the 50-degree range

LURES WE USED: See above

WEATHER CONDITIONS: Warm Spring day; 70-degrees or so, lots of sunshine

DEPTH: Close to the dock: 18' Casting out: approximately 25'

BOAT SPEED: 0, back home in the driveway (which is a sad place for a fishing boat to be during fishing season, in my opinion!)

NUMBER OF PEOPLE ON THE LAKE: For a Tuesday, there were quite a few! Guessing: 100-200 or so

Not to be known as a pouty guy, I treated my guest to lunch at the resort restaurant. The patty melts were delish--- and even though only one fish was netted; the Williams Lake experience was great. "I'll be back"....
