Hit McMurray opening morning from my float tube. Put the tube in @ the public launch about 5:45, had moved to the west side of the lake and release the five fish by 6:10. It was a fish-a-cast for the first hour or so, and slowed down to a "pick" after about 7:30. Using a sink tip with a green wooley bugger. Must have C&R 30 fish. Need to make a pit stop about 8:00, so I paddled in and went home for breakfast. The fish were a bit above average for plants, the largest about 12". But fun for the first trip of the year, I think I'd take a PTO day on Friday and try it again. For the 100's of boats that were on the lake, everyone seemed very well behaved. Lots of parents with kids, nothing better than seeing a little one hauling in his first fish. A good incentive for me to let everything go and let the kids have a shot at getting one.
