I came up from Lacey to meet a friend. We decided to fish Pine lake on short notice off the dock. The weather was overcast with cool breeze from the south, time was 1pm. When we got to the lake we only had our poles, a couple egg sinkers and 1 package of egg hooks size 8 . No Bait! We watched many 9"-12" trout being taken. Most people (20-40) were using 4 ft leaders with power eggs red/pink/green or dark green power bait. As we watched the people catch fish. It only took a few mins to realize the bait from the other fisherman was floating on the surface next to the shore. I found 6 pink power eggs. My friend and I caught and released 14 fish in 3hrs all on 4 power eggs. The best part was when we both caught the same fish ( two lines in one 12" fish at the same time). No big fish today, but the best cheap fun in years.....

The rules state that when fishing with bait your first five trout count as your limit whether retained or not. So after landing five trout your fishing day is done. These guys where poaching after the ten trout where caught, retained or released. Let's follow the rules and avoid a big fine.

If you want to fish all day...DO NOT FISH W/ BAIT...learn how to use your observation skills and fish with lures. You could of matched to color of the baits you saw floating to a lure of some type. Read the Regs. They are quite clear for Trout. Page 33 if you have any questions.
