Had another great day on Silver. It was windy, which made for fast drifts. My boys and I fished the north and south ends of the lake and saw fish on both ends. Had a nice muskie (around 30") fallow out of a submerged tree along the shore. But he didn't chomp the black spinnerbait my son was tossing. We went down to the south end and I hooked up with a 39" that was very healthy. After a great fight and a quick pic, she swam off strong. This one nailed one of those Bladedancer's from Berkley in black. It is interesting to note that this fish was a female and she had eggs in her. I took a picture of the eggs that leaked out of her to show the warmwater fish program manager. I know tiger muskies are sterile, but it doesn't mean females can't develop and absorb eggs. I don't think this has been recorded anywhere else in Washington, has it? Interesting anyways. Sorry, the pic is from a camera phone again. We went back to north end of the lake and had 1 more follow by the buoys in front of Ruby's. This time on a swimbait in perch. Please release your muskies, and good fishing.

Thanks for the report. I am a curious to know if you think about targeting the Muskies in Silver with a fly? I flyfish for trout and steelhead, but have never tried to go after Muskie, and you sound as if you have the fishery at Silver dialed in pretty well. Any thoughts or recomendations you might have to offer a novice when it comes to fishing for Musky would be most appreciated. Again, thanks for the great report.

I recommend you check out our forum for musky fishing on this site. There is a lot of information all ready there and we just started. More info to come.

Yes, Tigers do produce eggs, but they won't hatch. I have seen this in Hauser Lake in Idaho as well.

dbk, caught a couple with a fly there last year. If you can get a good budy to help, have him throw a teaser and have a big fly ready to intercept the Tiger.
