Fished Wapato Lake all weekend, I would recommend it to anyone. Fished for Largemouth Bass on a couple of the days pulling in a 5lb+ in the reeds with a brown and green jig and pig. They were continuously hitting the jig and pig along the reed line, but only landed the one fish (which was released). The bass were hitting in the morning (before 10am and in the evenings (after 5pm). The weather was sunny and pretty warm (70 degrees), with hardly a cloud in the sky. The water was still very cold though (40 degrees). I didn't have my camera with me, but several people on shore in my group that watched me hold it up for there attention. The people at the tackle shop said that the bass had been reported to be hitting the jigs and the salamanders.

Limited on trout all the days there, right out in the middle of the lake, would recommend it to anyone. We fished for trout at just about all hours of the day. We used power bait, super light line (3lb test), and a small slip sinker on a roughly 18-24 inch leader. Let the weight hit the bottom and waited.
