Opening day was totally awesome, caught and released first limit in under 30 minutes. Caught 18 fish in less than 2 and 1/2 hours. All fish were over 14" and biggest was 22. Fished 3/4 to the far end from the dock using a fly rod, sinking line, silver dodger with about a 38" to 46" inch leader followed with a muddler minnow. Was trolling at 1.2 mph with the line about 12 feet down. Trick for the big ones is to stay in the middle the 20 to 29 foot range of the lake.
Most people trolling on the lake were doing pretty good people still fishing were complaining it was really slow. Went back for cinco de mayo (05-05-07) and it was a little slower only 6 fish in 2 hours. Fish biting a lot weaker but steady. If you fish from bank use a slip sinker with about a 30" leader, number 10 hook, a 1/4 to 1/2 inch piece of orange power bait with the gold flakes in it.
