Bubba and I put in the water about 1430. We also took along 'ratman' for his maiden fishing voyage. He got a little froggy with the golden retriever that likes to hang out at the ramp, but other than that, he was cool. I caught the first fish of the day right off the ramp and it turned out to be the nicest fish i've seen come out of the lake. He was a holdover of 17+ inches and weighed close to two pounds. What a surprise. We trolled down to the other end of the lake and spent the next 3 hours or so butting up to logs and / or drifting, fishing mostly the bottom. The sun was out and it was warm but a little windy at times. There were probably no more than a half dozen boats on the lake at any time. I'm not sure how many fish we caught and released, but we ended up bringing 8 nice fish home to the frying pan. It was a fine afternoon on the lake. The only downside to the day was the dirtbike / ATV riders that buzzed around the NE side of the lake for a bit on what appears to be a freshly cleared trail. Kinda took away from the serenity of the place, but not enough to mess up our day.
