hit the lake with a float tube at about 8 am, brought a spinner rod and some worms. about 20 minutes in, the surface started boiling with cutthroat. shoulda' brought my fly rod! i plunked down a worm anyways and after some nibbles got a nice fat cutthroat, about 16". after that they went surface only on me. i shoulda' just clubbed them with my pole, they were jumping so close!
later on at dusk, i came back with my fly rod and tubed back out. once the fish came up it was on!! i got 2, each was about 13"-15" and healthy- these fish have been eating good! i used caddis flys and mosquitos. white or lighter colors seemed to work better. this is a sweet little lake with a quiet and small campground, and lots of hungry trout!!
