Sam Kafelafish and I were back again at Beaver Lake. This time we were there for a nice evening trying to catch some Largemouth bass. We worked half of the boat launch side of the lake and 3/4 of the public park side of the lake and only caught 4 fish for 2-3 hours on the water. I can't remember the exact time... We worked docks, banks, etc. with primarily spinnerbaits and sometimes switched our to our other rods pre-set with soft plastics to tempt the bass into biting them while they were sitting on their spawning beds. The bassing at beaver lake from what i have experienced and heard as never been very good. Just little tiny dinkers most of the time. Three of our fish were around 7 inches and Sam's last fish was 2 pounds, but full of eggs... Two of the little dinks were caught in a double header... We did see a bass on her bed that looked to be about 5 pounds at least but we couldn't coax her to bite our spinner baits or soft plastics. I would rate this evening experience a 2 for the size of the fish, but i give it a 3 because the weather was very nice and the lake was peaceful. Maybe we'll be back for Beaver Lake bass, but i wouldn't count on it. I'd rather fish for the trout when its good.
