Fished Myron Lake on a quick trip to Yakima. I didn't do well, one quick release on a Denny's A.P (All Purpose). But
a fellow fly fisherman caught three on a light olive Woolly Bugger
trolled on an intermediate line. The biggest was 15". I also spoke with a fly fisherman who had taken 2 - 24" rainbows on an olive Woolly Bugger
on Easter. He said, an olive Woolly Bugger in size 8 or 10 was the most consistent fly
for the lake. There were half a dozen people bank fishing with spinning
gear, too. With it's steep drop to 20+ feet the lake seems well suited
for those without tube, raft or boat. No access, but anything you can carry
you can most likely launch.

Since the lake has very little shoal area it has few weeds and I observed little insect life during my stay. I would imagine
this is the reason for the Woolly Bugger's dominance.

So if you don't mind fishing a woolly bugger close to a Shari's Restaurant with in
a stones throw of Hwy 12. Zoom...Zoom...Zoom... Myron Lake has
a good supply of fish over the 12" mark, a heavy plant of lunkers to be and easy access.
With this experience under my belt, I'd do it again if I had a little time to spend in Yakima.
