Attempted to fish for crappie off the Camas Heritage Park dock but it was a madhouse with the warm weather and boat launch traffic. Eventually, I walked on the trail parallel to the lake and found crappie in the fallen tree about 100 yards north of the launch. I immediately caught one on a white jig about 6' down from the bobber. I had several other immediate strikes, but the fish would get caught up in the underwater wood. Eventually I just gave up. I need to get my boat out there to do this efficiently. If it continues to be a boat war zone, I think I'll just go under the Highway 500 bridge to adjacent Round Lake where there are almost no boats. Max is a lot easier to get along with than some of these summertime boaters.
