Weather at Downs Lake on Sunday was overcast with rain off and on. We went out along the weed line and across from resort and caught a small perch right away. Moved several times and caught 2 nice perch. We decided to go back to the other end of lake and ended up at "gunshot" hole, no perch but caught a nice rainbow and a 13" crappie. 3rd crappie caught this weekend!!!!! That is good news, cuz last year we saw only 2 crappie caught all year. Perch are still a little slow, but nice size if you can find them. Rainbow are being caught all over lake. We only use a glow jig with meal worm or red wiggler worm. Sunday we were out after noon and the wind was very light. Crappie was caught on a bobber, glow jig and meal worm next to pads. Can't wait for next weekend!!!! Watch out Crappie!!!!!
