NUMBER OF PEOPLE ON THE LAKE: at 8:30 a.m. we counted 8 boats...
The BBs of BL had to visit Williams Lake to visit with the fish--- it seems the last time we were here, the fish gave us the business. We wanted to show them the way... into our fishing creel!
We arrived (first, as usual!) at the public boat launch and launched our boat at 5:30 a.m. The lake was calm at first, but as the sun peeked over the horizon a breeze from the NE developed and made the lake surface a little choppy. We trolled to the S side of the lake, then made a left (turned to PORT, for you veterans of nautical knowledge) turn and cruised the lake to just across from the resort, where we intended to set anchor and bottom fish. There WERE lots of fish there at the time, but they just didn't get rowdy about our offerings. After 45 minutes of silence, we weighed anchor and decided to troll after all.
BINGO!!
The fish began to notice our lures and hit them with gusto. Good ol' wedding rings. Chartreuse. #6 hooks. Maggotini'ed up in the BBs of BL way--- the way the fish like 'em. Wedding rings have nearly always worked for us...
We limited-out.
(cue in the whistling from "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly")
Nothing fancy, just fishin' and fun out on a fine morning, trolling on one of our fine NW "seep" lakes!
Thanks, WDFW.
