Hit the lake around 3:00. Started throwing brown rooster-tails from the east side of the lake. Hooked up with a 2-3 lb rainbow on the fourth cast. Got him up to shore and promptly had my 4lb test snap off. I watched as the fish swam away shaking his head with my roostertail in his lip...
Switched to chartreuse power eggs and had 3 more fish, small plants 8-10" rainbows. I then inflated a nightcrawer on a three foot leader and cast it far out to the middle of the lake. 5 minutes later, I had a huge strike and set the hook. After about 5 minutes, I dragged a 7 lb rainbow to the edge of the shore where my buddy grabbed the monster and brought him up the bank. Biggest rainbow I have ever caught, so big in fact, he wouldn't even fit in the 5 gal bucket. Limited w 5 fish including the 7 lb'r in about an hour and a half. Water was clear, weather partly cloudy and hardly anybody out there Friday afternoon...
