I fished I-82 pond #2 today from approximately 11 to 1. The pond is much higher than the last time I was there. All of the bushes, tall weeds, etc, are now about five feet from the shore (where they had been) and into the water. I fished the complete south side of the lake, but the rest of the lake seems to have the same predicament. There were only a few spots where a person could actually cast, and not be casting over bushes that extended two feet out of the water -- and of course these were the unproductive spots. It isn't like this pond doesn't have fish in it. Nobody ever fishes it. I never see people on it, mainly because it requires a short walk to enter it. Also, I saw numerous bass held up in the weeds and bushes, but despite my efforts, I couldn't get them to take the bait. I did get one nice one on that would probably go a couple of pounds, but lost it as I attempted to pull it through the weeds/ bushes. I also saw a carp that would go eight or nine pounds cruising the shore. The weapon of choice today was grubs with a jig head. I used Watermelon Seed and Pumpkin Seed colors. It was getting really hot by the time I started fishing, which I think is why I didn't get more hits. The only way to fish this pond right now is by float tube, or a boat (but boat access is impossible).
