Hit the lake at about 6:30pm. Left the dirt boat launch and started hitting the docks with my buzz bait. After only a few cast I hooked into a very large bass. I'm not sure if it was a smallmouth because of the way it was jumping after I hooked him, and unfortunatly he broke my line shortly after, and never got a good look at him. I know that there are large bass in here, both large and smallmouth, but the reason there so big is because they're very difficult to catch. Contuined fishing and put a few smallmouth in the boat. Good night on the water over all.

Hi
My name is Lura and I live in Covington. I grew up in the south and know a lot about bass. The only thing I have never had the chance to fish here in WA. Everyone I talk to said there are no bass or catfish here. I took my boys to lake Meridian. 3 time so far to fish on the dock. They are just learning. I saw over by the back end of the dock by the road there are some pads. That was prime bass fishing in Fl. My biggest bass was 13lbs. I just catch and release. I don't like to eat them. I would use a weedless hook and a big black rubber worm, kind of looks like a night crawler. It would work every time. I was just wondering where and what bate you use to catch your bass! Well good luck and hope to hear from you. As soon as school gets out I plan to be there a lot. Thanks.

Lura.
