Time/Conditions: 6-9pm, breezy in the mid 50s, mostly sunny
The weather was looking much improved from the previous few days so I headed over to Silver Lake in Everett after work. There were 2-3 other boats I saw on the lake and also a few folks fishing from shore and the public docks.
The water is warming up to get the panfish moving but not too warm for the planted trout yet--the trout were still hitting fairly shallow. On this trip I was primarily targeting the developing weeds and other structure along the shore for perch, rock bass, and bluegill. So far the growing weeds are not too bad and can be avoided as long as you don't let your fly/lure drop too deep.
I caught and released 4 rock bass casting along the shoreline and also released 3 rainbow trout trolling while rowing between shoreline spots. All were caught on the same "Damsel Leech Thing" fly, size 10.
