After reading Beerman1981's last couple of Dog Lake reports, and hearing that they just dumped some triploids into the lake, I figured I better get up there. It was a nice overcast day at the lake, with drizzles off and on. I arrived at 6:30 pm, and casted a red/white spoon from the highway side until about 7. I missed one bite and caught/released a little 6-incher. It became apparent to me, as cold as the water was, that anything over 6-inches probably wasn't going to put a lot of energy into chasing down a piece of metal. Thus, I had to resort to powerbait; orange power nuggets to be exact. That was the ticket alright; I caught two 15-inch triploids, an 11-incher, and a 7-incher in about an hour. The two smaller fish swallowed the bait, so they're currently getting a free tour of the human digestive system. Both triploids were only hooked on the lip though, so they were released. I think I could of technically caught one more fish since the first was caught on a spoon, but I had gotten five to shore so I called it a day. If you want some quick triploid action, Dog Lake is the place to be right now.
