We got on the lake about 10:00 a.m. and started getting hits right away. The water temperature was 59 degrees, light breeze and partly cloudy. Green seems to be the favorite color in many lower lakes so I thought I would try it up there also. It turned out that it was very productive all day long. The only noticeable insect activity was a small midge hatch. There were a few mayflies but they were sparse.
The lake is down about 8-10 vertical feet from the high water mark. I think this level is low for this time of year.
Most of the fish were in the 10"-12" range, with a few 14". Caught both rainbows and cutthroat. All fish appeared to be quite healthy and had a lot of energy.
