I Never had luck there or Offut lake either. Go to Long lake or Lake Sinclair. Its just better fishing there all around.

Garet , I have never fished this lake but whenever im faced with a lake like this i always make a small adjustment .. my advise is to down size your gear .. 6lb test (p-line cxx) and a shaky head worm ...start deep and for your way shallow ..pay close attention too your surroundings .. are there frogs ? bait fish ? match the hatch ! any area on the lake that offers alot of stucture ? Finese Fishing is the way to go and think you do fine .. hope this helps ...BBD

To catch Trout! This is the time of the month Large Mouth Bass are spawning their eggs and the trout are loving it. Use white and orange Power Eggs - resemble Bass eggs color. I used 6 lbs Berkeley fishing lline and going bottom with 3 feet leader. Hope this help. Good luck!!

I have not had much luck trolling for the past month at Black Lake. The water activity and jet ski's have made it impossible to troll in the evening. I have fished off the dock by the Black Lake Grocery store and had a lot of success with orange power bait and a slip egg sinker with 6-8# test. Use a 2-3' leader and just be patient. Fishing by the boat ramp is really no good, there is a weed line about 20-30 yards out and it will get thicker over the summer so using bottom gear and lures won't have much luck. Also people fish by the little bridge on Black Lake Belmore Rd. and I have personally seen big trout and HUGE carp cruising the flat and shallows as it spills into the creek. You can find the lunar tables on this site. Sometimes I think they work sometimes no. Good Luck...Matty G
