Got out on the lake at 8 am. The weather was rain all morning until it cleared up for the afternoon. We trolled for trout for a while with pop gear and wedding rings and marshmallows. Yellow garlic marshmallows worked better than worms on rings in the past at this lake. Around noon anchored off the point opposite the boat launch where a bunch of downed trees lay near the shore. I caught a largemouth right away on a 3" diving bass rapala. The fish hooked on it was only about 1/2" bigger than the lure. I had a 1 lb bass follow the same lure out from under another log, but no bite. After about a half hour of trying to cast the whole area I had a nice one at least 6 lbs come out from under the log right under my boat and Wham! The big one just swam right by, no hit. At least I found out that the big one was interested in a 4" plastic brown and red crawfish lure. Good luck to the next guy, because I had to head home.
