I had a recent report and thought I would give a try the following week. We ( me and my wife) arrived at the lake early in the morning about 7am. We spent time floating around the edges near the weed beds and lilly pads. Between 10 and noon we seen several bass over the 3 lbs range cruising in the shallow waters. Move about 200 yards and seen several bass in the 5 lbs or bigger class. Figured it out, if I could see them the fish was not hitting. Altogether it was a great day. The fish in the picture is the one that got away. (I put it back)...If you catch it .. it has a mark on the left gill plate. Happy Fishing.

I fished here years ago (see comments by "Pat" and "John D. Stokes"). There are some monster Bass in there. Go way deep in the far corner by Military Road and you will catch what amount to some Bass close to the WA state records for LM Bass. I am now at Fort Drum, NY and the fishing here is EXCELLENT! PM me if you want some good info (dated) about Fort Lewis fishing in general. Good luck and enjoy it. There are few places like the NW and I am so homesick!
