My Dad and I started fishing on Mineral Lk around 9:00am. When we arrived at the WDFW boat launch area, we saw paving equipment and construction workers. One of the workers said the area was closed and that it had been posted (locally) that there would be construction during the day, so the launch would be closed. The state has done some significant work on improving the launch and parking area. The new concrete boat launch looks very nice and the entire launch turnaround area is now paved with asphalt. Having read an earlier post, we decided to try north end. We fished with Powerbait for a couple hours and did not get a bite. The fish finder showed tons of fish in the area. We observed a few boats catching fish closer to the docks. We motored over there and started catching fish. An hour and a half later, we had 7 fish in the boat. When the bite seemed to be off, we switched over to trolling and right away I hooked a fish using a Rapala. We trolled around some more on the east side and then called it a day. We caught a total of 8 fish, all between 11 and 12 inches in size. It was a very warm and clear day with the temperature near 80 degrees and the surface water temperature 61.8 degrees.
