We decided to try another lake after being skunked the last few weekends. We went to West Medical Lake. After fishing Clear Lake for a few hours and getting very little action, we decided to try West Medical and see how the fishing was from the bank.. We showed up about 4:30 pm and after about a half an hour we finally got a bite. I pulled in a trout about 15 inches. Then after a few more minutes I got another bite. It was a fighter, but before getting it in close to shore, my line went slack and I knew I had lost it. So I can't say how big it was, but it was determined to not be caught. Then we fished for about a half an hour before getting another bite. Then we suddenly both had a fish on at the same time and pulled out a couple more trout somewhere around 14-16 inches. Then just before we left, we reeled in one more about the same size. We left around 8 pm. There were quite a few people there, many with kids. Some were catching fish and for some reason others were not.
We came back Sunday (the next day) hoping for similar action. We showed up about the same time. But after about 3 hours, we had only managed to catch a few sunfish and a little sunburn, nothing else. So we will try again next weekend.
