Well it finally happened! Took the short drive from Mukilteo to Cassidy lake for an early morning of fish hunting. Got to the boat launch at 5:18 am. Unloaded the pontoon and headed for the other side of the lake. Very interesting activity taking place on the surface. Fins fins and more fins skimming about just breaking the surface. Took a f-5 flatfish gator green with a yellow belly and casted around a rise and BAM nice 14 inch Rainbow put up a great fight. I proceeded to catch and land 10 bows over the next hour. Then I decided to troll around the edge of the lake with a top water plastic plug in a perch pattern. Just got going on the troll and to my utter amazement there about 30 feet behind my pontoon was a sight I had never seen. About a five pound large mouth launched skyward, shook his head three times and shot my hook back at me. It didn't seem to bother me all that much being as I'd never seen a Bass in real life before. I then went to the south end by the dock that jets out 15 feet into the lake and parked in the pads. I put on a small chartreuse jig with no bait and a small slip bobber. I spent the next 2 1/2 hours in that spot. I ended the day with 6 L/M Bass, 10 Rainbows, 15 perch and 6 Crappie. I will definitely return to this pond for more excitement in the near future.
