Well after doing some more research and found out that the state did plant brown trout in riffe ( last plant was in 2000 which they put in about 4500) not many for a lake this size the last creel census showed only 3 caught in a one year time frame. I decided to go after them again I got to the lake early about an hour before day light and launched at the end of the road by mossyrock park since I was there so early I just idled out to the bay in front of swofford pond and started there as soon as I could see I used a side planer pulling a kokanee imitation plug for three hours without a bite, at which time I talked to another troller who was fishing in front of the dam all morning and they also got nothing, so I decided to head to the east end of the lake where I found schools of fish suspended in area's I've done good in the past for other trout but again not takers I tried every thing, about 10:30 switched to bass fishing back in the stumps on the northeast corner and got 3 smallies all about 1/2 lb and all from the same stump first one on a husky jerk and the other two on a small jig. saw one other bass boat about 10:00 three guys said to have got one they seamed to all been using crank baits. water temp ranged from 49deg. at day break to 53.5deg by noon. will try again for the browns when time permits, until then, tightlines to all.
