I've only been fishing 4 times now (used to fish as a kid, now I'm a young adult) and i would say yesterday was my best so far. I was fishing out of a tandem canoe with a good friend and we were targeting trout. We ended up with 5 on the stringer, all tigers i think. Fish were biting from 6-sundown, with it really picking up once the sun dipped behind the trees. Caught 12 fish total, 16 if u count the 4 i found INSIDE the stomach of the biggest we got. I figured it was gonna be full of fish eggs but to my surprise when i cleaned it out that bad boy had been eating a ton of minnows! Awesome! Anyways to find the fish i would go deep. they seemed to be biting anywhere from the bottom up to about 15 feet. We would just cast out and let the bait settle then play with it and reel in slowly. The keepers were all ~12inches, with the biggest being about 16". We kept one that was a little smaller because of excessive bleeding. The fish fought strong and we only hooked 3 sunfish.

Good locations seem to be the Marshall creek inlet (out past the weed cover) and the railroad track side of the lillypads near the lakes center channel. I will be back for sure cause fishing for pan sized trout here is fun and access is very easy for me.

Don't hesitate to come talk if u see me in the water (I'm always fishing from a red canoe with and orange hat). Anyways peace and love. -Dustin

Oh yea there was only a few people on the lake yesterday but beware of noise pollution from the swimmers on hot weekends. Also the train passes by Marshall lake, but i happen to love trains so it doesn't bother me to much. If you are looking for a tranquil wilderness experience i would suggest you look elsewhere.
