Well it was my first time out to Silver Lake, I was hoping that arriving later in the day (6:30pm) would help me avoid the boaters I heard so much about. They were coming and going the entire time I was there, I thought a Tuesday would be less busy. I didn't know about where a good spot to cast from shore would be, so I followed the directions and ended up at the public boat launch. I couldn't see any good spots to set up so I stayed next to the reeds on the side. I did catch a few smallies but I threw em all back. A couple of them threw themselves back, somehow they unhooked themselves. If I knew of a good spot to cast from shore without being next to the highway or on private property I might come back. If I had a boat I might come back, but sitting in a cloud of bloodsuckers 20 feet from boats loading and unloading wasn't an enjoyable time.
