Just got back from Fargher Lake. I thought it was the body of water WSW of the town of Fargher Lake, but I was told that is all private and the place to fish is north of town. You take the road right next to the store, 156th Street, go north until it turns into Ried Road and the "lake" is right at the four-way stop. When I arrived after being skunked, as usual, at Battle Ground Lake it was about 9:00am a little overcast, cool. No wind to speak of. There were some other anglers on the opposite side, they told me later that the one fellow was fishing a worm on the bottom and caught a salamander...that was all they caught ! lol
I was using the Trout Magnet set-up from Leland's Lures. I used the chartreuse color and floated and twitched like the instructions say and BANG a got a small bass after about twenty minutes another ten minutes or so and I caught another. It was a hoot! I know they were tiny, but the were fun. The only down side was that someone had left four large (probably steelhead) fish heads to rot on the shoreline and they smelled bad! When I left there I went down to the Daybreak Boat Launch. The water is too low to launch a boat, but I wanted to fish the stream. It was a lot of fun, but I did not catch any fish. I did see lots of small fish and the two anglers from Fargher Lake.
Not much to show for it, but it was a really good day.
