We had no luck at all at this lake, and did not see a single other person on the lake catch anything despite there constantly being fisherman all around the lake and many on the lake in boats. This lake has apparently been fished out, with only a very few remaining smart fish. Some fish were jumping near dusk, so maybe if I had a fly setup, that could have worked. Also, the constant high pitched screaming coming from the swimming area couldn't have helped!

i guarantee you this lake has tons of fish still to be caught it is not fished out by far, to be successful on this lake you have to fish when there are no swimmers. also if you were using powerbait try some lures like rooster tails and such because that lake is steadily fished with powerbait and i am sure the fish have become wise enough to not eat powerbait, that is the fish that were caught by a respectable angler and tossed back or fish that have been hooked but not landed, fish especially trout can become very skittish when it comes to powerbait as i have learned in past ventures, when they first plant the trout you can catch them all day on powerbait but later in the season you have to change it up and use roosters or spoons to catch any good sized fish. good luck and dont give up on this lake

This time of year it's best to fish early in the day or at dusk. Like Max said they are probably wise to the whole powerbait thing. Stick to spinners at dawn and dusk. There is another option. Go to a pet store and buy a dozen crickets and collar hook them with a light wire hook. Toss them out gently with a bobber so they won't break the surface tension and will struggle on the surface. That will get some of those surface feeders you are seeing. One disadvantage to crickets other than cost is their inability to stay on the hook when a fish hits.

yea those crickets work well for finicky trout use them under a tree or by cover and you might catch bluegill or maybe a small bass

Use the fly and bobber technique early in the morning or at dusk. Good luck.
