My son and I went over to Buck Lake for the first time to see if we could find any fish. I also purchased a new Minn Kota and wanted to try it out. (note: It was extremely expensive bringing my little boat over on the ferry!) It was kind of cold an drizzing out. We saw several fish jumping but not a really good fish biting day for us. Here’s the clincher! We found a fun little area of bass fry and started wasting time on them. My son got a big bite and from first glance he had a nice size bass. When he pulled it closer to the boat and to our surprise it was and a large hungry turtle not very happy to be caught. I told the turtle it had better be glad it wasn’t in the south because turtle soup would be on the menu that night. Anyway, we let the little guy go and came in. Buck Lake is a nice looking area. I just do not know how safe it is to catch and eat fish considering a parasite warning was posted.
