Bragging about taking 2 - 5 gallon buckets of any kind of fish? "If it is the last fish in the sea, I want to be the one to catch it." (That your moto?)

wasnt bragging buddy! i have been catching gunny sacks of perch and crappie from this resevior since it was built. my granddad built the whole columbia basin irrigation project, which includes potholes. also, being a single father, i unlike otherfolks have a tight budget, which, i supplement with fish and game. i bring home elk, deer, and pheasants in the winter, and, perch, crappie, walleye, halibut, and salmon in the summer months. this saves me about $3000 a year in groceries. i do not retain fish during spawing seasons, and contribute (voluntarily), to many of washington states habitat restoration projects like the one at potholes, so, guys like you can catch "the last fish in the sea". if it wasnt guys like myself who donate time and monies to these projects, guys like you wouldnt be in a position of catching that "last fish", becasue there would not be any left. before you spout off, know the person you are spouting off about. thanks! Anyone who keeps gunny sacks of perch is doing any lake a favor. The are an introduced fish and are part of an incomplete ecosystem. When I was growing up in Minnesota we regularly caught 2lb. Perch. They were part of that ecosystem and were kept in check by predators like Pike and Muskies. A lot of lakes in Washington are broken and need some kind of fix. Keeping any Perch caught regardless of size is a good start.

Keep as many perch as you want/can. They overpopulate and stunt if people don't take some home for dinner. Check the regs, the limits are very generous!
