My son David and I went to lake Joy today for my birthday to try for some largemouth bass.
We got to the lake around 6:00 a/m and after hauling our inflatable raft down the trail we made it to the lake.
The lake was calm and there was only two other fishermen on the water. We started out throwing top water lures around the docks and the pads. Caught a few that way and then he switched to a spinner and I put on a crankbait.
He was doing pretty well and landed 5 or 6 more before I caught one. His largest was 3-1/2lbs. and the smallest was "well, I'll let the picture do the talking, if you can see it"...
He caught about a dozen or so and I only managed a 3 or 4 (all were released).
It was a great day on the water and any day I can spend with my son is a good day.
