Hit McIntosh in the afternoon at about 4 and started flipping a tube into the brush and logs along the shore line and hooked into this hog that picked up my tube and started moving off with bait without no feel in the pole so it does payoff to watch your line carefully for any movement. Water temp was at 74 degrees and algae bloom had blown to south end of lake so wasn't as slimmed on top. As always the fish was weighted and released to be caught again. Fish weighted in at 7lbs 8ozs. Also caught another fish at 2 pds. on a buzz frog.

Thanks Guys for all your support .
The trick to finding quality bass is to be persistent. I go for the big bait big bass syndrome. You may not caught as many fish but usually the fish that are hooked are quality fish. If i had only one method and one type of lure it would be the jig and pig and the flippin or pitchin method of presentation. I'm a self taught fisherman and have tried quite a few tactics and lures in my quest for the elusive largemouth and most of my larger bass have been caught on this lure and method. I found that accurate presentation and boat control is vital in my prefered tactic for most of my catches are caught in less than 3 to 4 foot of water and stealth is one of the factors in landing big fish. I get to see a lot of the pick ups of the lure by ol bucket mouth and needless to say its part of the attraction of fishing for largemouth that got me HOOKED!! Thanks again guys for the pat on the back which helps to build my confidence in my fishing abilities. hope to see you on the lake look for the boat with the"JOLLY ROGER" flag and maybe we can compare notes on the days fishing.
