Caught a few very pale colored 10-12" smallies on texas rigged plastics. A couple on a watermelon seed YUM Dinger. One on a waltermelon Gulp Power Worm. I got several more small tugs by little guys. This is my first time on this lake, and I thought it was a fun lake to fish. I'll be back again for sure.
It was a bright, hot and sunny day, but the water wasn't very clear. It looked kinda muddy. Maybe that's just how this lake looks? Anyway, all my jigs seemed to just grab mud which is why I started rigging weightless. That's when I started getting bites, so it must have helped.
On my way back to the dock after sundown, I heard a huge splash. I looked over and it happened again. This time I saw it though... a huge old bass jumping out for snack. I tried plopping a plastic worm out there, but couldn't get a bite and I had to get back home so I had to give up pretty quick.
There was quite a few people on the lake, including one guy who didn't mind running right over my line and chopping up my last Dinger. It seems like some people, when they are done, don't have much consideration for others who are still fishing. O h well, I still had fun.
