9/13/2007 9:00:00 PMI've also heard of the rumors, and the swampy area on the oppisite side of round lake is almost pure land! Im thinking that all the fish on that side are trapped in a small area, so if u find the water on that side, u will find the big hogs that are trapped on that side. Jigs might make the Big Dawgs bite, but since i just recently started using jigs I dont have enough experience to find those big hogs. Might hit the main lake on Saturday and fish the lillys with a boat. Try a few top waters and maybe even try a few jigs. Any place that you might recommend trying jigs on the main lake? tight lines

9/13/2007 9:57:00 PMIf you are on foot, you won't get by the dam because it's fenced off for repairs. The log booms are as far as you can go. So I would go around the back way. Try the dropshots because all the weeds are high and dry. Topwaters garnered no interest from the bass and it was optimum topwater conditions. If you can't boat it, definitely try the back side of Round Lake between the little dock around the point and the dam. It opened up some real pretty structure. I just didn't have time to go back around. If using a boat, work the bends in the channel where the vegetation hasn't been drained yet. You'll see what I'm talking about when you get there.
Don't forget some faster lures like crankbaits, Rat-L-Traps, and even in-line spinners. Good Luck!!!
