Fishing solo, I launched the old Bass Tracker onto Pierce County's Crescent Lake in search of ol' Bucket Mouth. It was cool and over cast as I launched and mine was the only boat on the lake. Later, a small boat and a canoe with anglers showed up but I was the only bass angler. The folks in the canoe were fishing for bluegill and catching quite a few. The other angler said he had caught a sunfish. I hooked about 25 bass. Most were quite small but 2 were in the 3 pound class and one was about 1 1/2 pounds. The rest ranged from about 5 inches to about 11 inches. One of the bigger bass and most of the smaller ones were hooked on a floating Rapala 11 SH. It was the very first time I have used this color and it worked great. The other bigger bass and the 1 1/2 pounder were hooked on a black jig with a blue gator tail trailer. Water was quite stained and some of the pads were dying. Surprisingly, the pads still held some fish. Missed some with the jig and had the tail of the trailer pulled off once. All fish were thanked for the memories and released.
