Spent Wednesday afternoon, and most of Thursday fishing this nice mountain lake. Bit of a drive, the roads from Woodland were in good shape, saw a few bow hunters, but not much in the way of wildlife... Wednesday, when we arrived the lake was somewhat alive with rising trout. My cousin was able to catch a very nice 14" BT that fought fairly well.. both of us caught a number of BRT and a few CT. We fished for about 2 hours, until the wind and the chill air set in. Thursday, I had all the luck and my cousin not so much.... I landed 13 trout, (mostly 12-13", except brookies) the first 3 being a CT, BT, and BRT, triple play!! then it was sporadic throughout the afternoon, trolling either a green bugger, or a bead headed prince nymph(liked the white wings). Only kept 1 fish. throughout the day there were 7-8 fisherman on the water and 8-10 on the bank. Most didn't have great success.
Lake was very low, with lots of stumps and rock exposed. Only my 2nd time here, and quite a difference from early June.
Overall, a great experience with courteous fisherman.... trout fishin should be good this fall in many places
