I Decided to go to Badger for the first time this year. I usually try to get out there at least once or twice a year. I got on the water about 10:00 am. It was clear, with a slight breeze out of the northwest. The water temp was ranging from 66 at the surface to about 64 at 15'.

I began catching fish with my first cast and It was pretty much one after the other until I left. One of the better days I have had this year. The fish were surfacing all over the place. I caught both Rainbow/Triploid and Cutthroats. During the morning I used an extended body Mayfly pattern that produced 10 to 12 fish ranging in size from 16" to 22". The surface action stopped around noon and I changed to my sinking line rig and began trolling a damsel nymph pattern with a "mini-tip" line. I caught another 15 to 20 fish before 1:30 when I left. The big one of the day was a very fat 24" Triploid/Rainbow that I caught as I was working my way back to the launch on a black bugger pattern with a hot pink beadhead. I hooked him about 10 feet from the landing when I was reeling my line in for the last time!

All in all a very good day on the water, I didn't run into the usual jet skiers and aggressive trollers there that I have seen in the past.

Tight Lines!
