Went down over the weekend and launched out of Clarkston to fish for steelhead at the confluence of the Snake and Clearwater. Had a nice weekend but was windy at times to keep the boat anchored in one spot. Out of 2 days of fishing my Son and I had 6 hits, caught a hatchery 5 lb er (25inch) and lost a larger one just off the boat. Lots and I mean lots of boats there Sat. est. 75 or more trying to count them. Sunday just half as many. The bite was pretty slow on Sat. and picked up better on Sunday but with the wind blowing, most everyone left the water by noon. As for bait we used dyed sand shrimp on black jigs under bobbers. Of course we'll be back down in 2 weeks.
