Trolled green needle fish lures and homemade spoons with pinched barbs. The two of us launched at south end with no waiting. Very few few boaters or shore fishers. Hadn't fished here for a long time. The lake level is higher than in years past as I remember. The north end resort had a slope to the lakeshore but now the lake is up to the parking and camp level. Througout the 70's and 80's this place was great for large tough fighting fish. Not this day. Lots and I do mean lots of small 8" trout eager to bite. After 4 hrs. left with 2 limits of of 11 to 12 inch fish including two 14 inchers. The quality of this lake has changed and not for the good of the fish growth. This doesn't help the 2 resorts any as few people were using them. Not that special place anymore. Enjoyed the day being out on the water. Broken overcast sky with little wind. Hinted at rain but never started. Lake had a hint of brown color but not bad. Other than 6 to 8 other boats had the place to ourselves. Good Luck. DH
