WOW What a day! I mean me and Skillet just absolutely SLAMMED the Yellow Perch at Lake Washington. I was like a little kid on the lake. You couldn't put your pole down because the minute you did one of those hogs just took your bait and away he went. Absolutely awesome day.
Luckily we had our GPS so we could mark them! No 13 inchers today but I swear we caught one last Sunday. WE did manage to get a 12.5, a couple 12's and 1 11.5 inch. I know they aren't halibut, but they are a bit bigger than some are used to catching. Even Guides!
Seriously, weather was crappy all day but fishing was just dynamite all day. We kept a little over 40 perch, and threw back at least that many that were between 6 and 8. Most of our keepers were between 8 and 11 inches. We even quit for a few hours at lunch and went in and ate and warmed up. Great day of fishing. When the Perch moved so did we, so turns out the GPS wasn't needed after all. Man did we have fun. Never did try 35-46 feet..
I used a green chartreuse road runner jig tipped with crawler or perch meat and my guide used a silver spoon tipped with perch meat. We did catch 1 pike minnow or white fish and Skillet is going to fry him up tonight. I hear they are tasty.
Good fishing everyone.
Joe
