One hour and one hole was all I needed for a limited of 5 rainbows today. All were caught in only 4 feet of water using Sep's Kokanee Killers tipped with salmon eggs. A constant jigging motion was needed today. Strikes were strong and decisive, nearly rendering my spring-style strike indicator unnecessary....a couple nearly took my jigging rod out of my hand! They would not touch my offering while suspended motionless. Fish were not large, two being 10" and three being 12-13", about average for Hog Canyon, although large fish are occasionally caught there.

Thanks for the timely update -- I'm headed there in the morning. Stuck home on New Year's because we didn't have a sitter, so I figure I'll put a rare hangover-free New Year's Day to good use!

You didn't mention the ice thickness, but I'm going to assume it's decent given how cold it's been lately and consistently.

We caught some nice rainbows there last winter (12-14" and thick!), will settle for anything since it's been so long since the season ended. Thanks again for a great report!
