Began fishing at 8:45. Didn't have to use my auger today, just used the same holes that my boys and I used the day prior. Yesterday we managed only 5 rainbows between the three of us in two hours of fishing, all small, 7-10" range. But today was different. The trout were extremely active between 9:15 and 10:15. In this 1-hour period I hooked ten fish, most of which were small and managed to shake themselves off before reaching the hole. Two of the four I landed were 13-14" fatties, full of fight despite their mediocre size. Things shut down at 10:15 and I fished until nearly 11:00 before getting my fifth. All caught on small Dick Nite's silver and red spoon tipped with salmon eggs and jigged vertically. All carefully released to fight another day. Movement has been the key so far this year at this lake. I also tried some preserved wax worms with zero luck, just tap-tap-tap....the fish did not like them and would not take.
