1/21/2008 8:14:00 PMThat's what happens when you fish bait at Rufus. You get to keep whatever you catch. Next time try fishing with 1/4oz black jigs, you will still catch small fish but you can release them until you catch something decent.

1/22/2008 9:52:00 AMi am still going to meet my pops and some other vets there for a week-end. already knew about the large crowd. thanks for the jig info northfork, great idea to insure some larger fish being retained. nop, am planning a opening day trip to potholes if interested. 10 guys or more from wl.com (split cottage fee, gas, groceries-approx. $60 a person). 4 boats already confirmed. fri-sat-go home sunday. pm me.

1/22/2008 5:05:00 PMI've only been there once, several years ago. I am sure it is a great fishery for some but I found the boat ride to get to the pens way too long and fishing slow. We fished all day for one 2 lb fish. The next 4 days we were there staying in Electric City we fished Jameson and limited on fat RB from 16 to 19 inches each day. Although many do great at Rufus Woods, It just wasn't for me. But, just read some of the other recent reports and notice how well some have done there. Good luck and good fishin.
