Had a great time at the lake. Drilled down about 20 inches into some thick ice after plowing 100 yards away in a foot of snow and about six inches of slush. Fish lake made for a great first ice fishing experience! Sifted the ice of the top layer and began the fishing. Tossed on a wax worm and some yellow power bait and dropped down to bottom. Cranked up 2 cranks and caught my limit for the day with lots of missed nibbles. The fish were hungry! I released all fish, but most were in the 8"-12" range with my biggest at 14". The ice was thick and it was difficult to pop the fish head up into the hole, but once i got used to running the fish down, I didn't have a problem. The fish also liked to swim around in the pool for a while before they found the drill hole. Had a great time excited for spring fishing!
