Well, I really didn't mean to fish this this lake today, I was supposed to end up at Cavenaugh, but that there is a whole'nother report and story elsewhere for that lake. This is the report for Lake Stevens, and great it was. I trolled for around four hours, many different setups and nothin hit. Not even a bite. But, no matter, it was still a great day on the water as are most. It did pour down rain for a while, but this time or year, this state, I don't go fishing without rain gear, so, it's all good. It was mostly calm, not much wind and I trolled everything except the kitchen sink to no avail. No worries, still on the water, still better than working. I did talk to a fella who talked to a fella who caught one on a pop-gear/wedding ring combo. That of course was the one thing I didn't try, which is odd for me. No worries, still on the water, still a great day. Got home in time to grill up some bacon cheese burgers with a fresh piece of cherry smoldering away giving a smokey flavor to the red-onions that were sauteed in the bacon drippings before being grilled and shoved under the bacon and cheese on that slab of ground beef. Damn it was a good day. I hope someone out there caught something, it sure wasn't me.
