I've decided I am going to invest time and learn this fishery... On the water early, two rods for about 3 hours. Fished around the Hunts Point area, marking more fish in the deeper water (60-120') than in the shallower waters... Trolled both with popgear/wedding ring/worm and flatlined needlefish spoons, neither produced any strikes. We were trolling fairly slow (1.8mph), which we don't know if is too slow or too fast, any suggestions appreciated.

Oh, and the seal was *definitely* out there today. Saw him early. Big bummer...

If you guys think one seal will ruin the fishing in Lake Washington, you guys are crazy!

I'll tell you what will ruin the fishing in Lake Washington, anglers who keep every single fish they catch.

Those meat hunters do more to deplete fish populations than 1,000 seals.

Oh yeah, not to mention the hundreds of thousands of gallons of raw sewage that flowed into the lake and its tributaries during the big flood last December 2007.

One seal? No worries.

Jason, I can only speak for myself, but I'm not worried too much about his appetite specifically, I'm worried that when I (finally) hook up with a fish, that he'll snatch it. *That* is super frustrating.

Gotcha, Irish, I understand your concern entirely. Very justified, sorry I jumped to conclusions!

Fishing the bridges should be good coming up in May along with fishing the mouth of the Cedar River. I bet we'll see some real pigs (8lbs'ers) come out of this area when the time rolls around. Speaking of that, I need to get my downrigger for summer fishin!
